American Color Theory - Short Film

"Until you understand color in America, nothing you see will make sense." American Color Theory (ACT) by Jamaal Barber debuted at Barber's solo exhibition Bright Black. Using the language of color theory, ACT explains how America defines race. The 10 principles are specifically worded and pair with the videography of Natrice Miller. Along with the art book of the same name, the video created a multimedia experience for viewer at the Southwest Arts Center in Atlanta GA.
